Now I’m not sure about you, but my September and October were filled with shopping, online shopping, and window shopping. It may be because of the change in weather, thus a necessary change in wardrobe. Or because of the emotional shopping that takes place as an aftermath of hours of homework. Nevertheless, I purchased quite a few things that I cannot stop talking about that I think you need to buy. I kid you not, I can’t stop talking about these items and recommending them to others. I don’t want to say these items are life-changing, but they’re kind of life-changing.
If you’re familiar with my blog though, then you know the drill! I’m a student on a major budget, so I only purchase products that are truly amazing. Products that are great both in appearance and quality, that put a smile on my face and rave about constantly. So if you received your paycheck recently, here is what you need to buy with it!
This post may contain affiliate links, which means I’ll receive a commission if you purchase through my link, at no extra cost to you! I only recommend products that I absolutely love, and all of my opinions here are honest. For more information, please read the full disclosure here.
Mejuri: Croissant Dome Ring
First off, I promise this entire post won’t just be filled with my own Instagram posts. I just need you to see how much I love this ring, which I can prove because it’s all over my Instagram. Here too!
I can’t go a single week without talking about Mejuri. The pieces they offer are just so incredible, specifically in the price, style, and quality. Mejuri offers simple, staple pieces, that work with absolutely every outfit. They’re offered at a discounted rate compared to the average jeweler, and they last forever.
I own a pair of earrings, a few necklaces, and a ring from them. They are all gold-plated, and they have yet to tarnish. Which is extremely uncommon for gold-plated pieces. I didn’t buy anything from Mejuri this month, but I have been wearing their pieces like crazy recently. Specifically the croissant dome ring.
My boyfriend actually bought me this ring about two years ago (the shorter necklace in the IG photo, as well) and neither has tarnished. Now that I’m back in the real world, attending classes in person, I have a reason to wear my jewelry again. And this ring has not left my finger.
It levels up every outfit because it just looks so classy. I receive compliments about it constantly, and it fits like a glove. Side note, I’m not sure if I’m the only person with this problem, but I struggle with ring sizes. I have smaller fingers, so finding my size can be impossible, but Mejuri offers as small as a size 4! This sounds like such a promoted post but I swear it’s not — I wish it was! If you enjoy wearing jewelry, but want pieces that will last forever without breaking the bank, I couldn’t recommend Mejuri more. Especially the croissant dome ring and its timelessness!
Aerie: Chenille Turtleneck Sweater
I am super picky when it comes to buying sweaters for the fall and winter. Mostly because I’m 5’0,” therefore, sweaters are always oversized. I end up swimming in material and look like a child, rather than a well-dressed college student.
However, these Aerie sweaters have changed my life. The quality of them is of course wonderful — this is Aerie we’re talking about. But the fit is absolutely perfect if you enjoy turtleneck sweaters that aren’t too heavy or constricting. I found the material to be incredibly soft without feeling delicate, while also being the perfect length. Definitely size down because it is meant to fit oversized.
I own this in three colors now; it works with leggings and jeans, and pairs well with shackets and skirts. I’ve worn them to the movies, classes, on a date, and on the couch, and they look nice everywhere! These were on sale for half off the other day, and they also offer a 20% student discount.
Fiction: Verity by Colleen Hoover
I have a fall/winter TBR coming, so if you’re a big reader or someone looking for a new book, stay tuned for that! But recently, I just finished one of the books on that list, and can’t stop talking about it! I basically tell every person I know to buy it because it’s all I think about.
Verity is a thriller novel about a woman, named Verity, who is too injured to finish her best-selling thriller series. Verity’s husband and publishing team, therefore, bring in a new author, Lowen, to finish the remaining books. However, when Lowen arrives at Verity’s home in Vermont to go through her research, she ends up finding an autobiography of Verity’s life that uncovers who she truly is and touches on the mysterious death of her twins and the cause of her sustaining injuries.
This book had me on the edge of my seat to the point that I finished it in 24 hours. Colleen Hoover is the type of author that doesn’t waste your time either; every chapter keeps you captivated and the story keeps you guessing. Making it perfect for the fall and for a reason to use your credit card!
OPI: Endless Sun-ner Orange Nail Polish
I have a very large obsession with nail polish, despite the fact that I hate painting my nails. There’s just something about having nicely painted nails though that makes you feel accomplished.
Therefore, when I take hour-long trips to Target, I can’t help but make my way to the beauty section and pick up every nail polish on the shelf.
I buy quite a lot of nail polish throughout the year, however, I have worn this color probably the most. I just absolutely love the shade, I literally stare at it while sitting in class!
If you paint your nails, I highly recommend this color, you won’t get bored of it.
Abercrombie: Ultra High Rise Straight Ankle Jeans
Guys — I talk about these jeans on a daily basis. I love them! I used to hate jeans; the way they looked on me, the way they fit, and how much they cost. It was impossible for me to find jeans that were comfortable, affordable, and fit me well in the waist and legs.
However, I wrote a blog post earlier this year where I tried the most talked about jeans on TikTok. I ended up purchasing about eight pairs of jeans from eight different stores all ranging in prices and sizes. And Abercrombie’s High Straight Ankle Jeans were the one pair I never stopped buying. I own five pairs now and I enjoy wearing them, I wear jeans almost every day now. (These are my favorite pair/wash: here.)
There’s almost always a pair on clearance too, and they look good on every body type. They fit in the waist and have a slight flare at the ankle so they make you look so good. Sign up for their rewards program and you can get coupons and discounts as you buy from them.
Aeropostale: Shacket
Aeropostale and I haven’t been near each other since 2014. Which I’m pretty sure is when they released a collection with Bethany Mota… I was a very big Bethany Mota fan.
However, I walked by an Aeropostale the other day and saw something in their store that pulled me in: shackets. Maybe it’s me, but I have not been able to find a good shacket anywhere. (Please feel free to share your recommendations below if you have any.) I just find that they’re always overpriced or horrible quality or both. So you can see why I practically ran into Aeropostale when I saw them.
Seeing as I’m mentioning them in this post, you already know how that trip went. I bought the only two they had in my size; a mint plaid one and a black plaid one. They are so soft, and they’re quilted on the inside so they’re perfect for the winter! They each went for $75 but they were 50% off…so of course, I bought both. If you’re going to buy one thing on this list, this is what you need. I even made a TikTok about it I love them that much!
1460 Dr. Martens
It is absurd for me to tell you to buy a pair of shoes I don’t even own yet. However, I tried these shoes on and can attest to how amazing they are. Thus, they will arrive in 3-5 business days on my doorstep!
Everyone knows about Dr. Marten’s though so I won’t bore you on what they are. It is highly possible that you already own a pair too.
To be honest, I was always turned off by them because of their high price and clunky style. I hate when my feet look big, so I tend to steer away from larger boots. After this TikTok though, I was sold.
And if she doesn’t sell you, the price will. You can actually buy these shoes in a kid’s size and get them for almost half the price. How did I not know about this? Enter my roommate with her ridiculously tiny feet and this information. Of course, the restriction on this trick is that your foot can be no larger than a US Women’s size 7 since only so many Youth/Kids sizes are offered.
