The Fall time is my absolute favorite time. It’s something about the foliage, cooler weather, cozier clothes, and warm meals that brings me so much joy. Autumn also has this romantic vibe, don’t you think? There is just so much to do in the fall time, especially with a significant partner or a new date! I’ve been in a relationship for four years now, and we’ve gone on quite a few dates. Therefore, I want to share with you the dates we love to do in the fall so you can go on amazing ones as well! Here are 20 Fall date ideas for a memorable, romantic time.
1. Pumpkin Picking
I have actually never been pumpkin picking before as a date, but doesn’t it sound so fun? Like I said previously, I am obsessed with the fall. And I’m pretty sure that pumpkins are the mascot for the fall. Go pumpkin picking on a date, so then you can do a few more date ideas on this list!
2. Apple Picking
I go apple picking every year with my boyfriend, and we always have a really fun time. We take a million dumb pictures, buy apple cider donuts and eat apples the entire time! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a date that is light-hearted and fun.
3. Drive-In Movie
If you know me, I am obsessed with movies, for example, I talk about movies I love here and here. My boyfriend and I went to one last week for the first time and saw Ghostbusters and had so much fun – we’re hoping to go again next week! You get to enjoy the beautiful autumn weather, as well as a great movie, and some peaceful time with your date.
4. Baking
I love to bake, but baking with your s/o is a whole different experience. My boyfriend cannot bake at all, so baking together is super funny. Try baking a fall dessert, like pumpkin pie or Halloween decorated cupcakes! You can bake my favorite Halloween dessert here!
5. Foliage Drive
I have personally not tried this, but I’ve heard about it so much that I’m dying to. I live in New England, so the foliage in the fall is absolutely breathtaking. Drying beneath the foliage covered trees is not only beautiful, but can be romantic as well. Just driving in a foliage dense area, and pulling over to walk around and enjoy the air can be a really calming date idea.
6. Carving Pumpkins
Remember that pumpkin picking date idea I mentioned? Well you need something to do with the pumpkins, of course. Carving pumpkins is a really fun date idea if you’re looking for something creative to do with your s/o.
7. Halloween Movie Marathon
Having a Halloween Movie Marathon is a great date idea specifically because it’s free! Pop some popcorn, throw on Netflix, and sit together and enjoy some movies you can only enjoy at Halloween.
8. Corn Maze
Personally, corn mazes freak me out too much. But if you’re brave, and looking for something on the adventurous side for a date idea, this is for you! This is something you can only do in the fall time, so definitely take advantage of it.
9. Haunted House Visit
This is another date idea I’m too scared to do. Visiting haunted houses can be really fun and memorable though if you and your date enjoy the spookiness of Halloween.
10. DIY Couples Costumes
This is an awesome fall date idea if you and your date are in a relationship together. If the two of you plan to have a couples costume, you can make a date out of it by DIY-ing your own!
11. Pumpkin Painting
I am horrible at pumpkin carving, so I always opt in for pumpkin painting. My boyfriend and I always look forward to this date in the fall because we always turn it into a competition.
12. Hay Rides
If you go to a popular place to pick apples, they most likely have a hay ride. However, I know there are some place that have longer hay rides where you can enjoy more of the foliage and the weather.
13. Thanksgiving Cooking
Cooking and baking are two things I really enjoy, and think I’m o.k. at. But you don’t need to be good at cooking to have a fun date! Try cooking something for Thanksgiving dinner together with your date for a fun and romantic time. Food is the way to the heart.
14. DIY Halloween Decor
If you enjoy doing crafts and creating something yourself, try pulling up some DIY Halloween Decor ideas on Pinterest. You’ll then have something some cute Halloween decor after.
15. Football Game
I am not a football fan, but I definitely don’t mind going to the games in the fall. If you’re going to go to a football game, the best weather to attend one is in the fall!
16. Screamfest
This is another date idea I’ll never be brave enough to attend. But if you enjoy horror, Screamfest is an awesome fall date idea. It only happens once a year, and it would definitely be a memorable date.
17. Cabin AirBnB
This is definitely a more pricey date idea, but if you have money set aside, this can be an awesome weekend trip. My boyfriend and I went away for a fall wedding a few years ago and stayed in a cabin. To this day, it is still his favorite trip we have ever taken.
18. Fall Photoshoot
I wouldn’t recommend doing this for a first date, because it could definitely be a little awkward! But if you are in a relationship, this is a really romantic date idea because you both are comfortable around each other. The fall time is gorgeous for photography, so set some time aside for both of you to take pictures together to look back on in the future.
19. Hiking
If you and your date are adventurous and enjoy fitness, go for a hike! The fall weather is beautiful to walk around in, and the mountains will be draped in foliage. It’ll make for a really romantic, and peaceful date.
20. Dinner
I do not mean just go to your typical restaurant! Because that’s not very memorable! Go to a restaurant you and your date have never been to before. Lots of restaurants, when the seasons change, create new menus specifically for the new season. So check out new restaurants because they most likely have a fresh, new menu for the fall! Also, who doesn’t love a great meal that you don’t have to cook? This is my favorite date idea when wanting something romantic.
