Shopping small is incredibly important right now, and it’s also incredibly easy with the convenience of the internet! And the holiday season is the perfect time to go crazy and shop like your Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl. But instead of shopping at Bloomingdales, it’s time we focus on small businesses.
By shopping small, you’re not only making a positive impact on the economy – small businesses account for 44% of the US’s economic activity – but you’re also directly impacting an individual’s life. When you buy from a small business, you are benefiting the owner and the employees that may have families, rent to pay, or food to put on the table. We are all enduring a major time of struggle, especially small businesses. I encourage you to check out these wondrous small businesses to support during your Christmas shopping this year and keep them in mind following the holidays by following their socials.

Cool Girl Candles
I’m not joking when I say this, these are genuinely the coolest candles ever. I learned about these on TikTok because they are famous for their “This Smells Like (Insert Celebrity Name)” candle. From Harry Potter characters to One Direction members. They also have Zodiac candles, Christmas-themed ones, and funny phrases like “blame it on Mercury Retrograde.” I’ll be buying my “This Smells Like Harry Styles” candle this month as a Christmas gift to myself!

I cannot explain to you how much I love this shop. Page Petal makes bookmarks that have pressed flowers in them. The flowers they use are absolutely beautiful, and they name each bookmark after an iconic fictional character. My favorite is Jo March. I own four of them and they are now the only bookmarks I use.

This small Canadian shop sells the most beautiful pieces of jewelry. Their items are chic, tasteful, and to die for! They look luxurious, without including an expensive price tag. Evren sells jewelry that works with every look and belongs in every woman’s jewelry box.

Coco and Chamomile
I discovered Coco and Chamomile through Instagram recently, and I’m so happy I did! Their jewelry is all centered around looking ethereal, through handcrafted celestial pieces. The pieces are absolutely gorgeous and so unique, you will not see anyone wearing something similar. Their jewelry will bring your outfit to A Devil Wears Prada type of level. Can you guess where my next paycheck will be going?

Stasi Accessories
Stasi Accessories is another new business I just found out about! They have the most aesthetically pleasing hair accessories, from hair wraps to barrettes to claw clips, and even hats and earrings. (They give me major Pride & Prejudice vibes.) I’m absolutely obsessed with their pearl barrettes and acrylic clips, they are so elegant. Their Instagram is to die for too.

If you’re looking to revamp your home or to buy a thoughtful gift for a friend who loves decor, these signs are the way to go. These wooden signs are the perfect decor because of how minimalistic they are – they will pretty much match any room. I would know, there are three in my home. They even offer holiday and personalized items!

I absolutely had to add this small business because I have been obsessed with them for months. The Eroda Gift Shop is your one-stop-shop for everything Harry Styles. This shop sells stickers, bath fizz, totes, tees, and crewnecks. Anytime there is a drop, items go sold out in minutes – I still have not been able to get any of their crewnecks! But it makes sense why everything gets sold out so quickly because the items are so unique and are high-quality. FYI: this shop does not open up back up until next month, but you need to keep up with them!

Julia Briganti Designs
I originally followed this small shop because of how gorgeous their Instagram feed is, and quickly learned that their Etsy shop is just as delightful. The owner, Julia, hand makes all the illustrations and showcases them through stickers, prints, apparel, and offers custom illustrations as well. The designs are vibrant and ridiculously lovely.

LP’s Tees
This Etsy shop sells the cutest, and trendiest crewnecks and tees. The designs are absolutely adorable and minimalistic. The owner Lauren handmakes every tee and crewneck using Comfort Colors products, which are the epitome of comfortable. LP’s Tees even sells custom college crewnecks, which make for an amazing gift for students!

Maison Madeline Shop
Maison Madeline Shop makes the most beautiful tumblers and mugs, perfect for birthday and wedding gifts, as well as decals and custom orders. Their floral monogram tumbler is my favorite item they sell, it would make the perfect Christmas gift for anyone always drinking coffee or tea on the go!
