I hadn’t been to New York City in quite a few years, so when I booked my flight for a two-night stay in New York during my last Spring Break, I couldn’t help but wonder…how would Carrie Bradshaw spend it?
Maybe it was the famous films set in the city, the busyness of it all, or just the pure beauty of bagels being available on every corner that makes the city so fun. However, I knew that once I finally had the chance to go back that I’d be doing New York like Carrie Bradshaw in the two days I had.
Meaning no typical tourist attractions, lots of shopping, and much gossiping while eating. Therefore, if you’re looking for some fun places to go and things to see while in New York City, I have you covered! I linked menus and ticket websites, as well as bolding main locations to make for a quick read!

Day 1: Samantha Jones Would Eat Here
I landed in New York around 10:00 AM, so you can imagine that all I really wanted to do was sleep and eat. Sleeping did not take place, but eating surely did. After dropping off our luggage at the hotel, we walked through Central Park with coffees and cameras in hand. Central Park was absolutely serene; a park in the midst of one of the busiest cities in the world. Every person you walked by had joy and contentions spread across their face.
I did not walk through Central Park in Boston’s winter temperatures for the view though. (If you’re worried about how to dress warm, read my blog post on winter outfits here.) If you’re a major Sex and the City fan, then you may have heard of the Loeb Boathouse before. There was a famous scene from the show that took place right outside the restaurant. However, the restaurant is also known for its gorgeous view. One entire side of the restaurant consists of glass windows that show a view of a small lake and the park. Oh, and of course, the food was incredible. I think the picture of the eggs benedict I ordered below says enough. But if it doesn’t: they gave us complimentary pumpkin bread. No more needs to be said.
Later that night, we stopped in SoHo to go shopping before grabbing dinner. Shopping was cut short because of the snow, but we managed to stop at Mejuri! I felt like Carrie Bradshaw walking into a shoe store trying to maintain any self-control. The second I started trying on rings that plan went out the window. $130 later…I now own a very cute pair of earrings and a ring that make my nails look wonderful. Let’s not question my spending though.
We ended our night at dinner near Central Park again, at Ruth Chris. If you’re looking for a meal that won’t disappoint, and won’t mind spending like Samantha Jones, you must book a reservation. When I tell you that everything I ate was from heaven itself, I’m not exaggerating. They’re known for their steak, but I tried everything else on the menu—or at least tried to. From the asparagus to the chicken to the chocolate cake.
Day 2: Would Carrie Have An Instagram?
I must have lost storage on my phone by lunchtime because I was taking photos as if my life depended on it. But when at The Met, how can you not? We’re talking about artifacts from all over the world that are priceless. As well as the fact that Timothee Chalamet was in the same spot only a year ago.
My personal favorite sections at The Met were the European Sculpture and Decorative Arts and the American Wing. We purchased tickets online beforehand so to avoid the endless lines.
We left The Met starving, so we looked for a last-minute place to eat and it ended up being the perfect location. On Madison Ave, we stopped at Serafina Fabulous Pizza for lunch. We sat upstairs—without a reservation—and had a view of the street from above. The view (as seen in the second photo) was wonderful in itself. Along with the authentic Italian meals offered and a brick oven that you could see the chefs using. If you’re a fan of Italian food, it would be a loss to not visit.
From there, we walked over to Lauduree for macaroons and chocolate croissants and then headed to The Edge. I found The Edge while looking through Pinterest and travel blogs for NYC travel recommendations. The tickets were available online for the outdoor sky deck, 100 stories high in the air, jutting out of the side of the building. It allows you to directly look down at the city below you with glass floors. As someone who doesn’t have an issue with heights, I even felt queasy walking out. However, it was definitely worth experiencing.
To the West Village: If Instagram existed during Sex and the City, I fully believe Carrie Bradshaw would have been an influencer. Therefore, stopping at her steps required an Instagram picture. I had no idea that her apartment in the show was so public to those living in the NYC area. All it took was one Google search and the location came up as “Carrie Bradshaw’s Apt.” If you plan to stop by, be mindful of those living in the area.
Last up was dinner at NoMo Kitchen; a restaurant connected to a hotel. Easily one of the best dinners I ever had; I ordered the Half Chicken with veggies. Which is incredibly ironic because I originally picked this restaurant because of its ambiance (as seen in the third photo). It was an unexpected, but great pick for dinner.
