I wanted to write this post essentially as an extension to my About Me page because I really wanted to share more about why I have started blogging. So let’s get into it!
Procrastination
I have wanted to start a blog for about a year now, but have majorly been putting it off. I tend to procrastinate things that aren’t required to be done. For example, I’m really productive with college course work and keeping up with deadlines, because I know they have a due date and I’m paying to take these classes (paying a lot, college is expensive, you get it) so I want it to pay off. However, doing something for myself doesn’t have a deadline, therefore I lower it on my to-do list and it never gets done. And between you and me, I also have this small fear of failure. But nevertheless, with the current Pandemic occurring, and my classes ending, I have no excuse but to start now!
My Love For Writing
I absolutely love to write, and I attribute that to my love for reading novels (I’m still procrastinating writing one, but that’s another hurdle). I wanted to create a blog in order to focus all of my writing in one place and grow it. I’m definitely not a perfect writer, and my grammatical skills are not where they should be, but I think it can get better the more I blog.
Writing is really calming for me (when it’s not course related) because it feels like the words are all flowing together. It’s a really satisfying feeling to write something you’re proud of and that people enjoy reading.
Giving Advice
Something I love just as much as writing is giving advice and helping others. I tend to be the “therapist friend” of the group, which is something that can be really great! Because my friends trust me with their personal conflicts and lives, and believe I can help, and it’s the best feeling to know that people you care about trust you that much. In my opinion, a blog is the best way to continue to give advice.
A Chance to Share
I don’t want you to think that this blog is here for me to lecture you as a therapist because it isn’t! I want to help you with simple advice, but I also want to be here as a friend! When you read each blog post, I want it to feel like just two friends talking, sharing recommendations and advice. Because I love to talk about clothes, movies, books, etc. with my friends, and I want to share all of that with you too.
Insight on life with liana
To finish this post off, I wanted to share a little insight into the name of my blog. It took me a while to name my blog, because I wanted it to be something catchy, but also be broad enough that it didn’t represent just one niche. “life with liana” made the most sense for me because I’m writing about things that have importance in my life, like college, entertainment, and fashion, and affect others’ lives as well. My website domain is only “with liana” because I wanted this entire blog to feel like you’re with me! I want this blog to be a journey that we go through together. Whether that journey includes us learning how to study better, or finding a new author to read from, or just what to wear on a first date!
If you actually read this entire blog post, thank you! I know this probably wasn’t the most exciting post, but I wanted you to know more about the origin of the blog and the purpose behind each post. I would love it if you subscribed and came on this journey with me! ♡
